This test was done Feb 2022, and I never created a blog post.
Almost cone 10 in oxidation. 100% local clay. This clay froze and was a bit stiffer than I’d like. Previous workability tests never tore. The porosity was still above 6%.
I didn’t finish the porosity test because I needed the pot to cook something. It got a 3 hr boil plus several hr soaking.
Cone 6 oxidation porosity was 7.5% and 14% added neph sye would bring it down to under 2.2% fired porosity.
Oh, and the darker spots are from the clay blobs I used to hold it in place while trimming. This clay will be one of my main clays going forward.
