Description

This mug holds 12 oz.  The bottom has been trimmed and sanded smooth. Microwave and Dishwasher Safe.

The clay body is my reclaim, which is a mix of local and commercial clay. The dark color of the clay body is from the local clay.

The item is hand thrown on the wheel, dried to leather hard and then trimmed. When it is completely dry, it is bisque fired (low fired) and then dipped in a hand mixed glaze. The final firing was to cone 9 (about 2300 F with a very slow rise towards the end). After the glaze firing, the bottoms are sanded smooth.

The glaze is Cosmic Blue. It is 48% local materials and contains a low iron clay from our land, sand from our land, and limestone from Idabel.
