Craftsmanship
This pitcher is hand-thrown on a potter’s wheel using Loca Mocha clay from Trinity Ceramic Supply. After drying to a leather-hard stage, it is carefully trimmed by hand before being bisque fired. It is then glazed with my Kulli Okchakko glaze—a recipe that contains 49.5% locally sourced materials, including clay from Jadie, Oklahoma, limestone from Idabel, Oklahoma, and a fine silt collected from our land south of Idabel. The pitcher receives a final cone 6 firing (approximately 2,200°F), creating a durable finish suitable for everyday use. After firing, the base is sanded smooth for a polished, furniture-friendly surface.
Aesthetic & Quality
Kulli Okchakko is a rich blue glaze inspired by the natural materials of southeastern Oklahoma. Because it contains a high percentage of locally sourced ingredients and every piece is fired individually, subtle variations in color and pattern make each pitcher one of a kind. With a generous two-quart capacity, it’s equally at home serving iced tea, lemonade, water, or displaying a bouquet of fresh flowers. Each piece is individually handmade, blending functional design with the unique character of regional materials.
