This is not something with which I’ve had much experience. I was very surprised when I opened the kiln and found it stuck to the shelf in this manner. This clay body tested at 1.5% porosity at cone 5.5. This was fired to a hot cone 6. The other large flat bowl slumped just a hair as well but not to this extent. It was a combination of just a hair too hot and too thin where I trimmed around the foot.
The worst part is that it took a chunk out of my new kiln shelf.
